Statement #2 Concerning COVID-19 and Richland Baptist Church
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for both our church members and our neighbors, I have decided to cancel our regular worship service tomorrow, March 15, 2020. This is keeping with local and national guidelines and wisdom from other area pastors and healthcare workers.
We have a unique opportunity as the church to love people in a different way. Continue to check on each other via phone and online. If you are sick please stay home and follow the guidelines laid out by CDC and the Heath Department. Part of loving your neighbor means not infecting them.
I will record a sermon for you to watch with family tomorrow morning. It will be posted here when available. We also now have online giving available on our website at www.richlandchurch.com. We will still need to continue to worship through our giving. If anyone does not have the ability to give online or doesn’t feel comfortable doing so, you can always mail a check to the church.
Lastly, this disease did not come as a surprise to God. He is sovereign and in control. I urge you to not panic but to plan and prepare. Instead of worry, turn to Jesus in prayer. God never changes. Lean into extra time at home and use it as an opportunity to dig into some deeper Bible study, prayer, family worship times, and rest.
This decision has been difficult for me to come to and I do not make it lightly. Thank you for your understanding and consideration of everyone in our church.
I love you all.
In His Grip,
